Winter Survival is all about trekking into the beautiful, wild Alpine Country and experiencing the world of ice and snow. Learn just how comfortable you can be when you practice fundamental cold weather survival techniques. You will learn how to build and improvise various snow shelters that blend and accommodate to the resources available. You will learn essential skills for snow camping, processing water, building and maintaining fire in an environment that is unforgiving to warmth. You will attend to your physiological systems while understanding and identifying the major risks of Alpine Country such as:

HYPOTHERMIA
FROST BITE
AVALANCES
SNOW BLINDNESS
and MECHANICAL INJURIES.


This course is designed with safety in mind. Whether you are new to snow camping or well experienced, there will be value to your participation. Wilderness I is highly recommended before taking this course.
